The Chinese pianist Zifan Ye was born 2000 in Inner Mongolia and received his first piano lessons at the age of five with associate Prof. Zhang Erpin. Three years later, he already started his professional studies in the highly gifted piano class of Prof. You Xi at the “attached Primary School to the Central Conservatory of Music” in Beijing. During this intense working period, he was selected to play in various masterclasses of Vladimir Ashkenazy, Menahem Pressler, Paul Badura-Skoda, Krzysztof Jablonski, Yong Hi Moon, Paulo Álvares, Boris Berman and Gary Graffman. Additionally, he was supported by the “Edifier Foundation” for many years. Since October 2017, he moved to Germany and continues his music studies at the “Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media” in the renowned piano class of Prof. Gerrit Zitterbart.

Zifan Ye won several international piano competitions in China and Europe including first prizes at the “Concours Musical de France” in Paris and at the International Piano Competition “María Herrero” in Granada. In 2018, had a performance of Piano Concerto Op. 54 by R. Schumann with Maestro Prezemyslaw Fiugajski and the Toruń Symphony Orchestra in Bydgoszcz, Poland. In 2015, he performed Grieg’s Piano Concerto with the Maestro Tang Muhai and the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra for the conductor’s youth culture funding program “Angels of Music”. He is regularly invited to prestigious music festivals including the concert series of the BNP Paribas, the “Beijing International Chamber Music Festival of the Central Conservatory of Music” and the International Music Festival “Piano aux Jacobins” in 2016. Furthermore he received the honour to play concerts for the world-renowned conductor Zubin Mehta, for Michel Sidibé, the Under- Secretary-General of the United Nations, and for the embassies of Poland, France and Italy in Beijing.

The young pianist currently lives in Hanover and continues to extend his concert career in the 2018/19 season with various recitals in Europe including Germany, Austria, Italy, and Spain, a solo recital in Lima (Peru), as well as invitations to play the opening concert of the “Jiang Artists Festival 2019” and to the “ 22nd International Piano Festival Leonel Morales 2019”.
